The Great Dane originated in Germany and was used as a hunting dog for large game.

There is a saying that goes "If you have a good Great Dane you will never want another breed. If you have a bad one you will never want another dog." We love Great Danes and know you do too.
Famous (albeit cartoon) Great Danes are Marmaduke, Scooby Doo and Astro from "The Jetsons." Nice to know the breed will still be doing well even in thr futuristic world!
